Glacier is a multiplayer vehicle combat map for Tanks Blitz, inspired by a Norwegian coastal village where damaged WWII-era warships have been trapped in frozen seawater during an abnormally cold winter. The map is not based on a specific historical event, but uses this setting as a visual and gameplay foundation.
From a gameplay perspective, the map is divided into three main zones. The central lighthouse hill is a high-risk/high-reward position: controlling it allows players to influence both flanks, but reaching and holding it is dangerous. The heavy tank flank is built around frozen shipwrecks, flatter ice terrain and large cover pieces, creating a slower positional combat space with limited flanking opportunities. The medium/light tank flank runs through the village, with smaller cover, more varied terrain and opportunities to use hull-down positions, quick peeks and active maneuvering.
I was the owner of this map from the initial idea to release. My responsibilities included developing the core concept, designing the layout, creating the blockout, defining route structure, combat flow, cover placement and firing lines. I worked closely with the art team on a daily basis to make sure the final environment preserved the gameplay intention of the blockout, maintained combat readability, and supported the intended experience for different vehicle classes. I also supervised the map throughout production, reviewed changes, provided feedback, and helped guide the map through iteration until its final release.
